Orlando Health announces $297M expansion

Orlando Health’s board of directors approved a $297 million expansion to its downtown campus Dec. 19. The project includes a new, 10-story, 345,000-square-foot, 190-plus bed patient tower. The project also will increase the size of the emergency room and construct a proton radiation therapy building. In addition, the project includes the closure of Lucerne Pavilion. Birmingham, Ala.-based Brasfield & Gorrie  is the general contractor, and the project was designed Dallas-based HKS Architects Inc.
 
Groundbreaking is set for 2012.
